What we Do
Through our workshops and presentations, we provide children with the opportunity to explore concepts in a manner that appeals to them. Rather than passively providing information through mundane presentations, we highly regard the theory of constructivism, in which the student actively constructs knowledge from their surroundings. At Spectra, we merely provide children with the tools and resources to understand what they are being taught, the bulk of the learning is done by the students!
We also strongly believe in providing a creative outlet for understanding complex topics within the fields of physics, engineering, mathematics, and beyond. Within our workshops, we incorporate different hands-on activities and demonstrations that allow the students to grasp the concepts being taught. The focus of these activities is to ensure that students are able to apply their learning to a real-life scenario, whilst engaging their creative outlet.

Meet the Team

Bande Hasan Sayed
Hello, my name is Bande Hasan, and I am the founder of Spectra Education. I founded this organization to provide equitable and practical education to children in communities where this form of education is not readily available. My aim is to teach kids how fun science can be, and how truly exciting STEM concepts are. As an ex-camp counselor teaching robotics, I have extensive experience dealing with children, and developing impactful lesson plans, which serves as the backbone of this organization. At Spectra, our main goal is to provide children with quality education, whilst allowing them to work through the laws and mechanisms being taught. Outside of Spectra, I am an undergraduate student at Toronto Metropolitan University, studying Biomedical Science, and love designing and building things with my 3d printer.
